If you sell online, you need to know how much your t-shirt weight is so that you can ask for the right amount or budget. And if you ship to another country, a small difference can really increase the shipping costs.

A small T-shirt from the Fruit Of The Loom Budget weighs 128 grams / 4.5oz. A medium Gildan Softstyle t-shirt weighs 138 grams / 4.86 oz. And an XL American Apparel t-shirt 50/50 weighs 156 grams / 5.5oz. So an average t-shirt will probably weigh about 130 grams to 150 grams.

Note: shirt weights can vary from country to country and from year to year. Manufacturers sometimes change the 'recipe', and not only that, the weight can also change due to things like humidity! Another thing that can change the weight is a 'heather' finish (this will tend to make it lighter with a few grams). So - use this as a rough manual and always end.

Let's also talk about the packaging. A great way to send an individual shirt is a plastic mailbox. These are of great value, waterproof and lightweight. Usually a plastic mailer who can wear a folded shirt measures about 250 mm x 350 mm (10 x x 14 x). In the UK this also has the advantage that it is small enough to qualify for the cheapest type of parcel post. However, these mail bags add 15 grams to each item, so pay attention!
